A importância da biossegurança na abordagem da segurança do paciente entre docentes médicos de uma Faculdade de Medicina no Estado da Paraíba

Resumo
A presente pesquisa tem como proposta central analisar a compreensão da biossegurança e segurança do paciente entre docentes médicos de uma faculdade de medicina. A relevância dessa abordagem deve-se a sua crescente importância na melhoria da qualidade de assistência. Tendo como objetivo geral, analisar a compreensão sobre biossegurança e segurança do paciente entre docentes médicos. A pesquisa realizou-se nas dependências do Centro Universitário de João Pessoa (UNIPÊ) onde funciona o Curso de Medicina, localizado na Cidade de João Pessoa (PB), entre fevereiro e março de 2020. A população foi composta por 100 docentes médicos. A coleta dos dados deu-se através de um questionário online (Google Forms), elaborado pelas pesquisadoras e disponibilizado através de um link por aplicativo de celular. Os dados provenientes da coleta foram analisados pelo SPSS, versão 18,0, a partir de estatísticas descritivas (frequência, porcentagem, média e desvio padrão). Para eventuais correlações entre as variáveis, utilizou-se os testes Qui-Quadrado e o T de Student, para as variáveis contínuas com distribuição normal o nível de significância adotado foi de 5%. A análise da associação entre as variáveis realizou-se pela construção de matrizes e testes de independência ou tabelas de contingências, com o cálculo das frequências relativas e absolutas e aplicação de testes de hipóteses (Teste T, Kruskal-Wallis ou Mann-Whitney) e de normalidade (teste de Kolmogorov-Smirnov), considerando o nível de significância de α = 0,05. Os resultados ainda mostraram forte correlação entre osconhecimentos sobre biossegurança e segurança do paciente, adesão aos protocolos e a notificação de eventos adversos. Deste modo, quanto mais conhecimento o profissional tem sobre o tema, maior é a adesão aos protocolos e maior a concordância sobre notificações de evento adversos e sua discussão no ambiente de trabalho. Há necessidade de estudos adicionais para somar informações a respeito da temática aqui trabalhada. Para futuros estudos seria interessante pensar em outros aspectos que envolvem a segurança do paciente com docentes médicos. Esta pesquisa ainda sugere que seja válida a ampliação de cursos de atualização sobre segurança do paciente.

Abstract
The importance of biosafety in approaching patient safety among medical professors at a Faculty of Medicine in the State of Paraíba. The main purpose of this research is to analyze the understanding of patient safety with medical professors at Centro Universitário de João Pessoa (UNIPÊ). The relevance of this approach is due to its growing importance in improving the quality of care. With the general objective, to analyze the understanding of patient safety among medical professors at Centro Universitário de João Pessoa (UNIPÊ). The specific objectives: to outline the socio-demographic profile of the research teaching physicians; evaluate the knowledge of teaching physicians about patient safety; verify adherence to safety protocols in care practice; evaluate the understanding of adverse events in healthcare. The research was carried out at the UNIPÊ where the medical course, located in the City of João Pessoa (PB), between February and March 2020. The population consisted of 100 medical professors. Data collection took place through an online questionnaire (Google Forms), developed by the researchers and made available through a link by cell phone application. The data from the collection were analyzed by SPSS, version 18.0, using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation). For possible correlations between the variables, the Chi-square test and the Student's t test were used, for continuous variables with normal distribution, the level of significance adopted was 5%. The analysis of the association between the variables was performed by the construction of matrices and independence tests or contingency tables, with the calculation of relative and absolute frequencies and application of hypothesis tests (T Test, Kruskal-Wallis or Mann-Whitney) and normality (Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test), considering the significance level of α = 0.05. The results also showed a strong correlation between Knowledge about patient safety, Adherence to protocols and the notification of Adverse Events. Thus, the more knowledge the professional has on the topic, the greater the adherence to the protocols and the greater the agreement on Adverse Event notifications and their discussion in the workplace. There is a need for additional studies to add information about the theme discussed here. For future studies it would be interesting to think about other aspects that involve patient safety with medical professors. This research also suggests that the expansion of patient safety update courses is valid.
